Sein neues Album „Late on Earth“, das am 24.4. bei ACT erscheint, ist für Joel Lyssarides das Ergebnis eines über vier Jahre andauernden Prozesses – einer intensiven Auseinandersetzung mit sich selbst und eines kontinuierlichen Austauschs mit Produzent Andreas Brandis. „Die wichtigste Veränderung im Vergleich zu früheren Aufnahmen war, dass ich einerseits bewusst über meine Grenzen hinausgegangen bin und mir gleichzeitig erlaubt habe, loszulassen und nicht mehr nach Perfektion zu streben. Denn am Ende ist es oft gerade das Imperfekte, das unsere Kunst menschlich und interessant macht.“ Imperfektion mag für Lyssarides, der oft acht Stunden am Tag am Klavier verbringt, ein relativer Zustand sein.
